Privacy Policy

Vanta is a Discord moderation bot built and run by AverWasTaken (JCBLLC). To moderate, Vanta looks at messages, remembers who did what so it can track repeat behavior, and keeps logs for moderators. It does not sell your data, and it does not run ads.

To do its job, Vanta processes:

• Message content. Every message in channels Vanta can see is checked against the server's moderation rules. Message text is analyzed when it is sent and is not kept longer than needed for that check.
• Identifiers. Discord user IDs, server IDs, and channel IDs, so Vanta knows who sent what and where, and can recognize repeat behavior.
• Moderation logs. When Vanta flags, deletes, or takes action on something, it records what happened, which rule was triggered, and when. The server's moderators can see these logs.

Vanta only sees servers and channels where it has been added and given permission to read messages.

Data is used only to provide moderation: checking messages, applying the punishments a server configured, keeping logs for moderators, and improving accuracy (for example, reviewing false positives). It is never used for advertising, and it is never sold.

Moderation logs are kept for up to 90 days so moderators can review appeals, then they are deleted. Message content is processed in memory for each check and is not stored as a message archive. If you want your data removed sooner, ask us (see Contact below).

Moderation logs are visible to the moderators of the server where the action happened. We do not share data with third parties except as required by law, or with the services that host Vanta, which only process data on our instructions.

You can ask us what data Vanta holds about you, or ask us to delete it. The fastest way is to join our support Discord and ask. Server owners can also remove Vanta from their server at any time, which stops all further processing there.

Discord requires users to be at least 13 years old (older in some regions). Vanta does not knowingly process data from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time and will post the new version here with an updated date.
